How to Use the AI Questionnaire Assistant
Prerequisites
At least one assessment questionnaire created
Access to the ZIN Advisor section
A knowledge base populated with your organization's security documentation (optional but recommended)
Accessing the AI Assistant
Navigation: Sidebar → ZIN Advisor
Click ZIN Advisor in the sidebar.
The ZIN page has multiple tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|
| Questionnaires | List of all questionnaires available for AI processing |
| Knowledge Base | Upload and manage documents the AI uses as reference |
| Checklist | AI-generated review checklists |
| Results | View AI analysis results and confidence scores |
Using AI for Questionnaire Responses
Step 1: Select a Questionnaire
On the Questionnaires tab, select the questionnaire you want the AI to assist with.
Click to open the questionnaire review page.
Step 2: Run AI Analysis
The AI assistant analyzes each question using 5 validation layers:
| Layer | What It Does |
|---|
| Semantic | Understands the meaning of the question using AI language models |
| Keyword | Matches key terms against your knowledge base |
| Pattern | Identifies common compliance question patterns |
| Context | Considers the surrounding context of questions |
| Exact Match | Finds direct matches from previous responses |
For each question, the AI provides:
A suggested answer based on your organization's knowledge base
A confidence score (0-100%) indicating how reliable the answer is
Color-coded confidence indicators for quick visual assessment
Step 3: Review and Accept/Modify Answers
Review each AI-suggested answer carefully.
Accept answers with high confidence scores (green indicators).
Modify answers where the AI suggestion needs adjustment.
Manually answer questions where the AI has low confidence.
> Tip: The AI works best when your knowledge base contains comprehensive security documentation. Upload relevant policies, certifications, and procedure documents.
Managing the Knowledge Base
Navigation: Sidebar → ZIN Advisor → Knowledge Base
Click the Knowledge Base tab.
Upload documents that the AI should reference when answering questions.
Supported documents include security policies, compliance certifications, procedure manuals, and audit reports.
The AI indexes these documents and uses them to generate more accurate responses.
> Note: Keep your knowledge base up to date. Outdated documents may lead to incorrect AI suggestions.
Batch Processing
The AI assistant supports batch processing for large questionnaires:
Select a questionnaire with many questions (100+ supported).
Run the AI analysis — it processes all questions in a single batch.
Review results on the Results tab.
> Tip: Batch processing can handle 100+ questions in seconds, significantly reducing the time spent on questionnaire responses.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|
| AI returns low confidence scores for most questions | Expand your knowledge base with more relevant documents. The AI performs best with comprehensive reference material. |
| AI assistant is slow to respond | Large questionnaires or knowledge bases may take longer. Wait for processing to complete. |
| Cannot access ZIN Advisor | Verify your role has ZIN Advisor permissions. Contact your administrator. |
| AI answers seem inaccurate | Review and update your knowledge base documents. Remove outdated or incorrect information. |
