How to Use Document Central

Prerequisites

  • At least one vendor added to the platform
  • Access to the Documents section

  • Accessing Document Central

    Navigation: Sidebar → Documents
  • Click Documents in the sidebar.
  • The Document Central page loads showing all documents across all vendors.

  • Document Central Features

    Uploading Documents

  • Click the Upload Document button.
  • Select the file and associate it with a vendor.
  • Add metadata (tags, description) as needed.
  • Click Submit to upload.
  • Viewing Documents

    The document list shows:

    ColumnDescription
    Document NameFile name and type
    VendorWhich vendor the document belongs to
    Linked ToAssessment or risk the document is linked to
    Upload DateWhen the document was added
    Uploaded ByWho uploaded the document

    Linking Documents

    Documents can be linked to:

  • Assessments — attach documents as supporting evidence for assessment responses
  • Risks — attach documents as risk evidence or treatment documentation
  • Open a document's details.
  • Click Link to Assessment or Link to Risk.
  • Select the target assessment or risk entry.
  • Unlinked Documents

  • Use the Unlinked Documents view to find documents that are not associated with any assessment or risk.
  • Review and link them to appropriate items to maintain a clean document library.
  • Exporting Documents

  • Use the Export option to download document collections.
  • Select the documents and export format.

  • Per-Vendor Documents

    You can also access vendor-specific documents:

    Navigation: Vendors → [Select Vendor] → Documents Tab

    This shows documents only for the selected vendor, including the option to export.


    Troubleshooting

    IssueSolution
    Cannot upload documentCheck file size limits and supported formats. Verify your role has Documents Create permission.
    Document not appearing in vendor viewEnsure the document is associated with the correct vendor during upload.
    Cannot link document to assessmentThe assessment must exist first. Create the assessment before linking documents.
    Too many unlinked documentsReview and link documents to assessments/risks regularly to maintain organization.
