How to Set Up Morning Briefings
Prerequisites
Access to the ZIN Copilot
At least one integration connected (for data-driven briefings)
Your user role properly configured (CISO, Analyst, or GRC)
Available Briefing Types
| Briefing | Target Audience | Focus Areas |
|---|
| CISO Briefing | CISOs, VP Security, Security Directors | Strategic risk overview, executive metrics, board-ready insights, trending threats |
| Analyst Briefing | Security Analysts, SOC Team | Operational details, new vulnerabilities, alerts requiring action, asset changes |
| GRC Briefing | Compliance Managers, GRC Teams | Compliance posture changes, policy gaps, audit readiness, framework status |
Accessing Your Morning Briefing
Navigation: Sidebar → ZIN Copilot
Step 1: Open ZIN Copilot
Click ZIN Copilot in the sidebar.
The chat interface opens.
Step 2: Request Your Briefing
Type a briefing request in natural language:
"Give me my morning briefing"
"CISO briefing for today"
"What's the security status this morning?"
"Analyst briefing"
ZIN generates a briefing based on your user role.
What Each Briefing Contains
CISO Briefing
Risk Posture Summary — overall security score and week-over-week change
Critical Issues — top issues requiring executive attention
Key Metrics — asset count, vulnerability trends, compliance scores
Strategic Recommendations — high-level actions to improve posture
Analyst Briefing
New Findings — vulnerabilities and issues discovered since last briefing
Alert Summary — alerts from connected security tools
Asset Changes — new or modified assets
Priority Queue — top items to investigate today
GRC Briefing
Compliance Status — framework compliance percentages
Policy Updates — policies pending review or recently changed
Audit Readiness — upcoming audits and evidence gaps
Risk Register Updates — new or escalated risks
Customizing Your Briefing
ZIN automatically selects the briefing type based on your user role
You can explicitly request a different briefing type (e.g., an analyst can ask for the CISO briefing for broader context)
Follow-up questions can drill into specific areas of the briefing
> Tip: Make the morning briefing part of your daily routine. Ask ZIN first thing in the morning to get an immediate understanding of what needs attention.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|
| Briefing has limited content | Connect more integrations. Briefings are richer with more data sources available. |
| Briefing doesn't match my role | ZIN uses your assigned platform role. Contact your administrator to update your role if needed. |
| Briefing data seems stale | Verify integrations are syncing successfully. Check Integration Health on the Dashboard. |
| Cannot access briefings | Ensure you have ZIN Copilot access. Contact your administrator. |
