How to Install and Use the Chrome Extension

Overview

The Vendor Pulse · AI Questionnaire Assistant is a Chrome extension that answers security questionnaire questions for you using your Vendor Pulse Knowledge Base.

For each question you send it, the extension returns a suggested answer and a confidence value. If the Knowledge Base has a close match, that answer is used. If it does not, an answer is generated from the Knowledge Base content and returned with a lower confidence value — or with no answer at all when there is nothing suitable to work from.

The quality of every suggestion depends entirely on what is in your Knowledge Base.

Prerequisites

  • Google Chrome
  • An active Vendor Pulse account with one of questionnaire:view, questionnaire:add or zin:add
  • Entries in your Vendor Pulse Knowledge Base — the extension has nothing to answer from otherwise

Step 1: Build Up the Knowledge Base First

Navigation: Sidebar → ZIN Advisor → Knowledge Base

Each Knowledge Base entry is a question and answer pair with optional tags:

  • Question — the security questionnaire question to match against
  • Answer — the response ZIN Advisor should give
  • Tags — comma-separated labels such as policy, encryption, incident, which make entries easier to find

Only active entries are used when answering. Add entries covering the topics you are asked about most before you rely on the extension.

Step 2: Install the Extension

You can install it straight from Vendor Pulse:

  1. Go to Sidebar → ZIN Advisor → Knowledge Base.
  2. Find the Vendor Pulse · AI Questionnaire Assistant card on the page.
  3. Click Add to Chrome. The Chrome Web Store listing opens in a new tab.
  4. Install the extension from the store listing and confirm when Chrome asks.

> Tip: pin the extension so it stays visible. Click the puzzle-piece icon in the Chrome toolbar and pin Vendor Pulse · AI Questionnaire Assistant.

Step 3: Use It

Open the questionnaire you need to fill in, then use the extension to request answers. It sends the questions to Vendor Pulse, which returns for each one:

ConfidenceHow confident the platform is in that suggestion
Source entryThe Knowledge Base entry the answer came from, when there was a direct match

> Always review every suggestion before you submit. These are drafts produced from your Knowledge Base, not approved answers. A low confidence value is a signal to check the answer carefully.

Step 4: Improve the Answers Over Time

When a suggestion is wrong or missing, fix it at the source rather than only in the questionnaire:

  1. Go to Sidebar → ZIN Advisor → Knowledge Base.
  2. Add a new entry, or edit the existing one, so the correct answer is on record.
  3. Tag it so it is easy to find later.

The next questionnaire will use the improved entry.

Troubleshooting

Suggestions come back blank or with very low confidence → Your Knowledge Base has nothing relevant. Add entries covering those topics and try again.

The extension is not visible in the toolbar → Open Chrome's extensions menu (the puzzle-piece icon), confirm the extension is enabled, and pin it.

I get a permissions error → Answering questions requires one of questionnaire:view, questionnaire:add or zin:add. Ask your administrator to grant one of them.

The Knowledge Base page says it is temporarily unavailable → The Knowledge Base service is not reachable right now. Wait and try again; contact support if it persists.

An entry I added is not being used → Only active entries are matched. Check the entry still exists and is active in the Knowledge Base list.
