How to Import and Export Data in Vendor Pulse
Vendor Bulk Import
Navigation: Sidebar > Vendors > Bulk Upload
Importing Vendors from Excel
On the vendor list page, click the Bulk Upload option.
Click Download Template to get the Excel template.
The template includes columns for all vendor fields (name, domain, industry, tier, SPOC details, etc.).
Fill in vendor data — one row per vendor.
Upload the completed file.
The system validates and creates vendors from the uploaded data.
> Note: The template includes dropdown columns for Manager and Business Owner fields, pre-populated with your organization's user list.
Exporting Vendors to Excel
On the vendor list page, click the Export option.
All vendor data is downloaded as an Excel (XLSX) file.
MasterVault Template Import/Export
Navigation: Sidebar > MasterVault
Importing a Template from Excel
When creating a new template, you can upload an Excel file to bulk-create the template structure (categories, subcategories, questions) in one step.
Click Add Template and select the upload option.
Upload the completed Excel file.
Downloading a Blank Template
Click Download Template to get the blank Excel template for creating templates.
Fill in the structure: categories, subcategories, and questions.
Exporting an Existing Template
On a template's page, click the Export option.
The template (with all categories, subcategories, and questions) is downloaded as an Excel file.
This is useful for sharing templates between organizations or for backup.
Assessment Response Import/Export
Navigation: Vendor Details > Assessment Process > [Select Assessment]
Exporting Assessment Questions
Open a vendor's assessment.
Click the Export option.
Choose to export:
All questions — complete questionnaire
Incomplete questions only — questions not yet answered
Completed questions only — questions already answered
The questions are downloaded as an Excel file.
Importing Assessment Answers
Open a vendor's assessment.
Click the Import option.
Upload the completed file with answers. Supported formats:
Excel (.xlsx) — answers filled in the exported template
CSV (.csv) — comma-separated answers
ZIP — Excel/CSV with attached evidence files bundled together
The system maps answers to their corresponding questions.
> Tip: The ZIP import is powerful — bundle your answer spreadsheet with evidence files (PDFs, documents) in a single ZIP file, and the system will attach evidence to the correct questions automatically.

Importing KB Entries
On the Knowledge Base page, click Import.
Download the template first (VendorPulse_KB_Template.xlsx).
Fill in Q&A pairs in the template.

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|
| Import fails with validation error | Ensure the file matches the downloaded template structure exactly. Do not rename columns. |
| Vendor bulk import exceeds limit | Check your plan's vendor limit. Bulk import respects entitlement restrictions. |
| ZIP import not recognizing evidence files | Ensure evidence files are in the root of the ZIP alongside the spreadsheet. File names should match references in the answer sheet. |
| Export downloads an empty file | Ensure there is data to export. Check filters — you may be exporting a filtered empty set. |
| Template download not working | Try a different browser. The template is an Excel file that requires a compatible viewer. |
