How to Create Widgets and Dashboards from ZIN Advisor Chat

How to Create Widgets and Dashboards from ZIN Advisor Chat

Overview

Besides the ZIN Dashboard builder and the AI tab in the widget query builder, you can ask ZIN Advisor in chat to build a widget or a whole dashboard for you. You type the request, ZIN writes the queries against your Interno data, and the widget or dashboard is saved into Interno.

The important difference from the builders: in chat, ZIN saves what it builds. A request to create a dashboard produces a real dashboard straight away, without a review step. This guide explains how to ask, what gets created, and how to stay in control.

Which Way Should I Use?

You want to…UseDoes it save automatically?
Describe a dashboard and choose which suggested widgets to keepCreate → ZIN DashboardNo — nothing is saved until you click Build
Get help writing one query, then finish the widget yourselfCreate → Widget → AI tabNo — you review and save the widget
Have a widget or dashboard built for you in one messageZIN Advisor chatYes

For the first two, see How to Create AI-Powered Dashboards and How to Build Custom Widgets and Dashboards.

Prerequisites

  • Interno on the Zeron cloud (SaaS) platform — ZIN Advisor is not shown on on-premises installations
  • Permission to create widgets and dashboards. ZIN acts with your own access, so it cannot create what you could not create yourself
  • Data already flowing in from at least one connector

Creating a Widget in Chat

Navigation: Sidebar → ZIN Advisor

  1. Type a request that says you want a widget, for example Create a widget showing the top 10 devices by business impact or Build a widget for critical vulnerabilities by severity.
  2. The chat shows Widget Creation Agent activated.
  3. ZIN drafts the query, runs it, and shows a preview of the rows as a table.
  4. It checks whether a widget like this already exists, so you do not end up with duplicates.
  5. It saves the widget and replies Widget created ✓ with the widget's name.

Whether it asks before saving depends on how you phrase the request:

  • You asked it to create, build or save a widget → it saves in the same reply, without asking.
  • You only explored the data (for example Show me critical vulnerabilities) → it shows the results and asks once whether to save them as a widget.

You can also ask it to list your widgets, update one or delete one. For updates and deletions it asks you to confirm first.

Creating a Dashboard in Chat

  1. Type a request for a dashboard, for example Create a dashboard for vulnerability management or Build me a dashboard for privileged access risk.
  2. The chat shows Dashboard Creation Agent activated and Building a full dashboard with 5–10 widgets.
  3. ZIN plans between five and ten widgets — a mix of tables, charts and at least one recent-activity view — previews each, reuses any matching widget you already have, and saves the rest.
  4. It creates one dashboard containing them in a two-column layout and replies Dashboard created ✓ with the dashboard name and the list of widgets.

It does not ask for confirmation at any point. The widgets and the dashboard exist as soon as the reply arrives.

The new dashboard is private to you. Open the dashboard picker to find it — dashboards built this way carry a Zin Generated marker.

Staying in Control

  • Mentioning a dashboard can be enough to build one. ZIN decides what you want from the wording of your message. Phrases such as security dashboard, risk dashboard, analytics dashboard or dashboard for… are read as a request to build. If you only want an answer in the chat, ask the question without the word "dashboard" — for example Summarise our open critical vulnerabilities by device criticality.
  • Check the suggestion cards before sending. Clicking a card on the ZIN Advisor start screen only fills in the message box; it does not send. Read the text first — some of the suggested prompts ask for a dashboard, and sending them may build one.
  • Review what was built. Open each new widget and check the query returns what you expect before you share the dashboard or rely on its figures.
  • Tidy up. Anything you do not want can be deleted like any other widget or dashboard. Deleting the dashboard (⋮ → Delete Dashboard) leaves its widgets in the widget library, so remove those separately if you do not want them.
  • Prefer the builder for anything you will present. Use Create → ZIN Dashboard when you want to pick the widgets yourself before anything is saved.

Troubleshooting

ZIN built a dashboard when I only wanted an answer → Your message contained wording it read as a build request. Delete the dashboard and its widgets if you do not want them, and rephrase without "dashboard".

"Widget created" but I cannot find it → A widget created in chat is saved to the widget library, not placed on a dashboard. Open a dashboard, choose Edit Dashboard → Add Widget, and search the widget selector for the name given in the reply.

The widget shows no data or the wrong data → ZIN writes the query from your request and the fields it finds. Open the widget, check the query, and correct it in the query builder — or ask again with the exact data you mean (for example naming the data source).

ZIN says it could not create the widget or dashboard → It acts with your permissions. Check that you can create widgets and dashboards yourself.

"Your AI budget has been exhausted" → Your organisation has used its AI allowance. Contact support@zeron.one or your account manager.

"Connection lost. Please try again." → Wait a minute and resend. This also appears when many requests are sent in a short time.
