Getting Started with Interno

Overview

Interno is the Zeron Command Center. It pulls data out of the security and IT tools you already run, keeps it in one place, and lets you build dashboards, run queries and track risks against it.

This guide takes you from first login to your first connected integration and your first dashboard.

Prerequisites

  • An active Zeron account with Interno enabled for your organization
  • For step 3, an administrator account and the credentials for one of your security tools

Step 1: Log In

  1. Go to your organization's Zeron login page.
  2. Sign in with your credentials, or with single sign-on if your organization uses it.

Step 2: Learn the Sidebar

The sidebar is grouped. Click a group to expand it.

> Note: Which items you can open depends on your permissions. Until Interno has collected any data, only Integrations, Management, Settings and Manual Ingestion are enabled — everything else stays greyed out until there is data to show.

Step 3: Connect Your First Integration

Navigation: Sidebar → Admin → Integrations

  1. Click Admin, then Integrations.
  2. Find the tool you want using the Search box, or narrow the catalogue with the Category filter.
  3. Click the tool's card. A panel slides in from the right.
  4. Click Add <tool> Credentials.
  5. Fill in the form:
  • Name — your label for this connection. It may contain only letters, digits, and the characters . _ -, with no spaces, and it cannot be changed later.
  • Version and Authentication Method — shown only for tools that offer a choice.
  • The credential fields for that tool, such as base URL, username, password, client ID or client secret.
  1. Click Save Changes.

Once saved, the credential appears as a card in the same panel. Use the three-dot Actions menu on that card to Start Scan and pull the first batch of data.

Step 4: Check the Data Arrived

Navigation: Sidebar → Assets → Asset Inventory

  1. Open Asset Inventory.
  2. On the Assets Listing tab, pick an entry from the Source: dropdown.
  3. The count chip next to the dropdown tells you how many records Interno holds for that source.

If the dropdown is empty, the first scan has not finished yet.

Step 5: Build a Dashboard

Navigation: Sidebar → Dashboard

The page opens on Create or select a dashboard, with two ways to make one:

Troubleshooting

Most of the sidebar is greyed out → Interno has no data yet. Connect an integration and run its first scan; the rest of the sidebar unlocks once data arrives.

ZIN Advisor is missing from the sidebar → It is available on the Zeron cloud platform only, not on on-premises deployments.

A sidebar item opens an access-denied screen → Your role does not carry the permission for that area. Ask your administrator.

Saving an integration failed with a message about the name → The name may contain only letters, digits, and . _ -, with no spaces, and it must be no longer than 100 characters.

Asset Inventory has no sources to choose → No scan has completed yet. Open the integration's credential card and use Start Scan, then check again.

I need another Zeron product enabled for my organization → Products are assigned by Zeron, not from your own organization settings. Contact your Zeron representative.
