Getting Started with Interno
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
An active Zeron account with Interno access
Admin or Security Analyst role assigned to your profile
At least one security tool/integration ready to connect (e.g., Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, AWS)
Step 1: Log In to the Platform
Navigation: Browser → Zeron Login Page
Navigate to your organization's Zeron login page.
Enter your credentials or use SSO to authenticate.
Upon successful login, you will be redirected to the Interno Dashboard.
Step 2: Understand the Navigation
The Interno sidebar contains the following sections:
| Section | Purpose |
|---|
| ZIN Copilot | AI-powered conversational assistant for security insights, commands, and analysis |
| Dashboard | Unified security posture overview across all connected tools |
| Asset Inventory | View and manage all organizational assets discovered from integrations |
| Manual Ingestion | Manually upload asset and security data that is not available through integrations |
| Query Library | Pre-built (Standard) and Custom queries for analyzing security data across your stack |
| Integrations | Connect security tools, cloud providers, and IT systems (e.g., Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, AWS, Azure) |
| Risk Register | Track and manage identified risks with lifecycle management |
| Reports | Generate security posture and risk reports |
| Management | User management and organization settings |
> Note: The sections visible to you depend on your assigned role and permissions.
Step 3: Connect Your First Integration
Navigation: Sidebar → Integrations
Click Integrations in the sidebar.
Browse available integration connectors (security tools, cloud platforms, IT services).
Click on the integration you want to connect (e.g., Microsoft Defender, AWS, CrowdStrike).
Follow the configuration wizard — provide API keys, credentials, or OAuth authorization as required.
Click Save to activate the integration.
> Tip: Start with your most critical security tool. Once connected, Interno begins pulling asset and risk data automatically.
> Note: Each integration has specific requirements (API keys, permissions, endpoints). Refer to the integration-specific setup guides for detailed instructions.
Step 4: Review the Dashboard
Navigation: Sidebar → Dashboard
Click Dashboard in the sidebar.
The dashboard displays:
Security Posture Score — overall security health metric
Asset Overview — count and distribution of managed assets
Risk Summary — active risks by severity
Integration Health — status of connected tools
Recent Alerts — latest security events from integrations
Step 5: Explore Key Workflows
After connecting integrations, proceed with these workflows:
| Step | Workflow | Navigation Path |
|---|
| 1 | Chat with ZIN Copilot | Sidebar → ZIN Copilot |
| 2 | Review Asset Inventory | Sidebar → Asset Inventory |
| 3 | Set Up Morning Briefings | Sidebar → ZIN Copilot → Briefings |
| 4 | Explore Query Library | Sidebar → Query Library |
| 5 | Generate Reports | Sidebar → Reports |
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|
| Dashboard shows no data | Connect at least one integration. Data populates once integrations sync successfully. |
| Integration connection fails | Verify API keys/credentials are correct. Ensure the external tool allows API access from Zeron's IP range. |
| ZIN Copilot not responding | Ensure your browser supports the chat interface. Try refreshing the page. |
| Sidebar sections missing | Your role may not have the required permissions. Contact your administrator. |
