Getting Started with Interno

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • An active Zeron account with Interno access
  • Admin or Security Analyst role assigned to your profile
  • At least one security tool/integration ready to connect (e.g., Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, AWS)

  • Step 1: Log In to the Platform

    Navigation: Browser → Zeron Login Page
  • Navigate to your organization's Zeron login page.
  • Enter your credentials or use SSO to authenticate.
  • Upon successful login, you will be redirected to the Interno Dashboard.

  • Step 2: Understand the Navigation

    The Interno sidebar contains the following sections:

    IntegrationsConnect security tools, cloud providers, and IT systems (e.g., Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, AWS, Azure)
    Risk RegisterTrack and manage identified risks with lifecycle management
    ReportsGenerate security posture and risk reports
    ManagementUser management and organization settings

    > Note: The sections visible to you depend on your assigned role and permissions.


    Step 3: Connect Your First Integration

    Navigation: Sidebar → Integrations
  • Click Integrations in the sidebar.
  • Browse available integration connectors (security tools, cloud platforms, IT services).
  • Click on the integration you want to connect (e.g., Microsoft Defender, AWS, CrowdStrike).
  • Follow the configuration wizard — provide API keys, credentials, or OAuth authorization as required.
  • Click Save to activate the integration.
  • > Tip: Start with your most critical security tool. Once connected, Interno begins pulling asset and risk data automatically.

    > Note: Each integration has specific requirements (API keys, permissions, endpoints). Refer to the integration-specific setup guides for detailed instructions.


    Step 4: Review the Dashboard

    Navigation: Sidebar → Dashboard
  • Click Dashboard in the sidebar.
  • The dashboard displays:
  • Security Posture Score — overall security health metric
  • Asset Overview — count and distribution of managed assets
  • Risk Summary — active risks by severity
  • Integration Health — status of connected tools
  • Recent Alerts — latest security events from integrations

  • Step 5: Explore Key Workflows

    After connecting integrations, proceed with these workflows:

    Troubleshooting

    Dashboard shows no dataConnect at least one integration. Data populates once integrations sync successfully.
    Integration connection failsVerify API keys/credentials are correct. Ensure the external tool allows API access from Zeron's IP range.
    ZIN Copilot not respondingEnsure your browser supports the chat interface. Try refreshing the page.
    Sidebar sections missingYour role may not have the required permissions. Contact your administrator.
